TRIMMING NATURAL HAIR - THE SEARCH & DESTROY METHOD

Are split ends stopping you from having the best hair of your life?  Then you should consider trying the "Search & Destroy Method".  I learned about it pretty early on in my hair journey and it has saved me from having drastic haircuts because it is a hair trimming method that specifically targets split ends. We all know that, if neglected, split ends will eventually lead to thin, damaged, and lifeless hair.  Although some people may believe that split ends can be treated, that is untrue.  The only way to get "treat" split ends is by trimming the hair just above where it splits.

When implementing the Search & Destroy Method all you need to do is identify the hair shafts that have split ends and use a pair of hair shears (not regular scissors) to trim your hair just above the point where the shaft has split.  Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, it could several days to complete.

So if you are interested in trying this method out, here are a few pros and cons you should consider first:

Pros:

  • keeps split ends at bay
  • no special skills required
  • moderately therapeutic
  • prevents dramatic haircuts due to damaged hair

Cons:

  • Time-consuming
  • Requires a lot of attention to detail

Have you tried the Search & Destroy Method?  If so, how did it go?
